OVER 700 SENIOR CITIZENS ATTEND CONGRESSWOMAN RICHARDSON’S ANNUAL SENIOR BRIEFING AND LUNCHEON

Long Beach, CA—Today, over 700 senior citizens attended Congresswoman Laura Richardson’s (D-37) annual Senior Briefing and Luncheon at the Juanita Millender McDonald Community Center in Carson.

The annual event provided a unique opportunity for seniors throughout the 37th district to come together to hear information on various senior issues including social security, Medicare, prescription drugs, senior housing and to participate in free health screenings.

“The Senior Briefing and Luncheon is our largest district event of the year,” Congresswoman Richardson said. “I’m happy to see that so many of our seniors came out today to learn about some of the many services that are available to them.  One of the things that I enjoy most about serving in Congress is that I am in a position to provide helpful information and services to my constituents. I encourage seniors, who were not able to attend, to contact my district office to learn about some of the important issues that were discussed.”

Seniors and other interested people wishing to obtain more information about some of the topics discussed are encouraged to contact Congresswoman Richardson’s district office at (562) 436-3828.

Congresswoman Richardson is a Democrat from California’s 37th Congressional District. Her district includes the city of Long Beach, Compton, Carson, Watts, Willowbrooke and Signal Hill. She is a member of the House Committees on Transportation & Infrastructure and Homeland Security.
